The Jungle Safari is a world-class, state-of-the-art zoological park spread across 375 acres of undulating land near the Statue of Unity. It houses more than 186 species of fauna from across India, Africa, Australia, and the Americas, including Asiatic Lions, Royal Bengal Tigers, Giraffes, Zebras, and African Leopards. The safari park is designed with open-moated, naturalistic enclosures and features two massive walk-through aviaries (for exotic birds and domestic birds) and a dedicated reptile house. It is designed to promote wildlife conservation and eco-awareness.

The Sardar Patel Zoological Park, popularly known as the SOU Jungle Safari, is a world-class zoo spread across 375 acres of picturesque, undulating land near the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar. The park is home to more than 186 species of rich fauna representing various geographical regions of India, Africa, Australia, and the Americas. Notable residents include Asiatic Lions, Royal Bengal Tigers, Giraffes, Zebras, Cheetahs, and exotic primates. The safari is unique in its design, featuring open-moated, naturalistic enclosures that mimic the animals' native habitats. A major highlight is the two massive geodesic walk-through aviaries—one for exotic birds and another for domestic birds—allowing visitors to walk among hundreds of free-flying birds. The park also features a reptile house, an insectarium, and educational exhibits focused on wildlife conservation.
The Jungle Safari is open Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The ticket office closes by 4:00 PM to allow visitors sufficient time to tour. The zoo is strictly closed every Monday for animal welfare checks, veterinary inspections, and enclosure maintenance.
The entry fee for the Jungle Safari is ₹200 for Adults (18+ years) and ₹125 for Children (3 to 17 years). This includes access to all animal viewing zones, the walk-through aviaries, the reptile house, and the general walking pathways. Optional services, such as renting battery-operated golf carts or taking guided tours, are available at the entrance for an extra charge.
The best time to explore the Jungle Safari is during the early morning hours (8:30 AM to 11:30 AM) when the weather is cooler and the animals are most active and visible during feeding times. Alternatively, a late afternoon visit (3:00 PM to 5:00 PM) is pleasant. It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes and carry hats/sunglasses, as the tour involves substantial walking.
The Jungle Safari is located about 3.5 kilometers away from the main Statue of Unity monument plaza. Visitors can easily catch the green electric shuttle buses from the central SOU welcome plaza or parking lots directly to the Jungle Safari entrance. The bus ride takes about 5 to 7 minutes.
